50th Anniversary

Working closely with all levels of government, not for profits and LGBTIQ+ friendly businesses, First Mardi Gras 78ers (FMG) is producing several public events for the 50th anniversary. These include:

  • International conference held over two days in February 2028

  • Concert at the Sydney Opera House in February 2028

  • National touring exhibition and Salon78 forums delivered between June 2027 and June 2028

  • Landmark, commemorative public art installations along the route of the original Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade

FMG is also working with Qtopia and the State Library of NSW on exhibitions at these locations.
