First Mardi Gras 78ers are working in partnership with Museums of History NSW to deliver a touring program across multiple locations. Museums of History NSW have received funding of $254,073 from Visions of Australia to design and produce the program. FMG will contribute content and imagery and liaise with local 78ers and Pride organisations about local involvement. The program has two streams - a large exhibition that will be installed in up to ten locations over two years; and pop-up bus programing that will tour regional Pride festivals.

The exhibition will feature the rise of global civil rights activism in the late 1960s and 1970s and the early Pride movement in Australia, setting the scene for the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in 1978. The exhibition will reflect on the events of 1978 and the significant law reforms achieved in following years.  New audio-visual resources will be created for the exhibition.

Potential locations to date include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Daylesford, Leeton, Tamworth, Gosford, Albury and Wagga Wagga. Additional locations are being planned.
