Rebbell Barnes

COMMITTEE MEMBER

Rebbell has 45 years of experience across four local government city councils in Sydney, including roles focused on libraries, records information, and customer service.

During Sydney World Pride 2023, Rebbell was employed by the City of Sydney as the first Coordinator of City’s LGBTIQ+ Archive Collections, responsible for cataloguing and digitising the Star Observer’s photographic collection, bequeathed to the City of Sydney in 1996 by Michael Glyn. He now continues this project as a volunteer.

As an Ambassador of Qtopia, Rebbell supports inclusive programming and education initiatives, including efforts aimed at student and corporate education programs. These efforts have sought to build understanding of societal changes over the last 50 years generated by political activism and to reinforce the need to continue to build upon the hard-fought rights that younger generations often take for granted.
