Robyn Kennedy
CO-CHAIR
During the 1970s, Robyn was Secretary of CAMP, the organisation that spearheaded Australia’s LGBTIQ+ rights movement. In 2022, she and Robyn Plaister produced a book about CAMP and the individuals who fuelled the pioneer Pride movement in Australia. She is a past Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Board member and, in this capacity, played a lead role in Sydney’s successful bid to host WorldPride 2023. She is a past Vice President of InterPride and the current Co-Chair of NSW LGBTIQA+ Advisory Council.
In 2018, Robyn received the ACON Community Hero Award which recognizes outstanding contributions to advancing the rights of LGBTIQ+ communities. She was awarded InterPride’s Outstanding Volunteer of 2022. In 2023, Robyn was presented with the Key to the City of Sydney by Lord Mayor Clover Moore, as a representative of LGBTIQ+ heroes past and present.
During her career, Robyn held senior management roles in government and the not-for-profit sectors where she drove policy aimed at addressing social inequity and disadvantage.
